WHAT’S ON AT THE HOP
Right in the centre of Old Town, we’re a bit of a community hub. The Hop supports comedians, local artists, musicians and artisan makers, giving them space to showcase their work; gets people thinking and laughing with pub quizzes and comedy nights, and we are a nice little venue for live music. Happy to hear from anyone with good ideas for events that bring people together.
SWINDON’S OLD TOWN COMEDY CLUB – TWICE A MONTH!
Upstairs at the Hop is home to Swindon’s Old Town Comedy Club hosted by comedian and MC Sam Michael.
Every second Wednesday of each month is FRESH MATERIAL NIGHT with a line-up of comedians. Tickets are £5.
Each last Wednesday every month brings us TV STARS, performing PREVIEW SHOWS ahead of their UK tours at £8 (early-bird ticket) or £10 – a fraction of the ‘theatre’ price.

Live Music
From 2025 we’re the venue for more live music upstairs at the Hop, hosting the best in original and new music from local and touring acts brought, promoted by SoP Live. Check their feed for more information and ticket links.

THE SWINDON SHUFFLE MUSIC QUIZ
every last sunday each month, 6pm
It’s shuffled over from The Tuppenny. Test your musical knowledge with some random music rounds and a shed-load of tomfoolery. Join in for £2 per person (maximum team-size 6 people). All proceeds go to Prospect Hospice, and there’s a voucher for Sunday lunch for two people for the winning team. Be here to register from 5.30pm, quiz starts at 6pm.
ART EXHIBITIONS
We’re the largest exhibition space in Old Town and maintain a high standard of work by professional and semi-professional artists and photographers. We’re happy to also exhibit the work of therapeutic community groups and students starting out in the creative industries. Keep updated on the exhibitions on our social media.

ARTISAN MARKETS
‘Shop Small Swindon’ artisan markets are held in our beer garden and Upstairs at the Hop, with about 20 local stall-holders each time. A fabulous range of artisan-made homewares, food, jewellery, art, ceramics etc etc. 2025 dates will be announced soon.
