A proper pub in the centre of Swindon’s Old Town, with a nice, big beer garden and really tasty food!
We’ve served thousands of cask ales from hundreds of breweries since 2012. There are eighteen cask and keg beers, as well as a broad selection of wines, spirits, bar snacks, teas and coffees… and ice creams and ice lollies.
Great, tasty food is served from our Hop Nosh kitchen – be sure to check our ‘specials’ board. We host comedy nights, meet-ups, quizzes, live music and art exhibitions – dog friendly too! You can also hire our upstairs room for (almost!) any occasion.
Today’s Beer
a tasty selection of 8 cask ales and 10 keg beers everyday
Think of us as an on-going beer festival. There’s an ever-changing selection of 12 guest brews – stouts, sours, bitters, IPAs, wheat beers, saisons and pale ales, and 7 permanent favourites – our self-named Hop Bitter by Ramsbury Brewery, Freedom and Hawkstone lagers, Budvar pilsner, Weihenstephaner wheat beer and Arbor’s Mosaic session pale and Nitro Stout. We also have around 30 niche, craft ales in cans (mostly with groovy can designs), and bottled European beers.
traditional & DRAUGHT ciders
We’re west-country folk so can’t forget the cider – at least 6 traditional still ciders, 2 on draught, AND a good range of Lilley’s bottled fruit ciders too.
Basically, you have the choice of around 60 real ales, craft beers, ciders and lagers every single day of your life. Most of our staff know their beer and breweries and are all too happy to guide you through the what’s on offer.
Awesome. Go here if you want good beer and knowledgeable staff.

OPENING HOURS
Sunday and Monday: 12pm – 10.30pm
Tuesday – Saturday: 12pm – 11pm
Opened as a micro-pub in 2012 at No. 7 Devizes Road in Swindon, The Hop Inn sparked the ‘Swindon Old Town craft beer revolution’ as the first pub in Swindon to focus on craft beers. We moved two doors down in 2019 to 8 Devizes Road. Not a big move, but a bigger pub.
